NIS2 —
Cyber resilience for critical infrastructure
in the European Union

NIS2 is the stringent European Union cyber directive that replaces the original NIS. It requires critical infrastructure organizations and essential entities — energy, health, finance, digital and more — to manage cyber risks and report incidents. An Israeli company with EU operations may need to comply. CBE guides you through the entire process.

What is NIS2?

The European cyber directive that requires critical infrastructure

NIS2 (Network and Information Security Directive 2) is a European Union directive that replaces the original NIS. It significantly expands the scope of obligated entities and tightens cyber risk management and incident reporting requirements.

The directive divides entities into 'essential' and 'important' across 18 sectors — energy, health, finance, digital, water, transport and more — and imposes governance, risk management, incident notification and audit obligations.

In Israel, NIS2 doesn't apply directly — it's European regulation. However, an Israeli company with operations or subsidiaries in the European Union may need to comply. In Israel, the parallel regulation comes from the National Cyber Directorate and sectoral regulators (Bank of Israel, Capital Markets Authority).

Sound governance

Mandatory policy, risk ownership and training at all management levels.

Incident reporting

Early warning (24 hours) and full report (72 hours) on significant cyber incidents.

18 sectors

Energy, health, finance, digital, water, transport, public administration and more.

Supply chain

Mandatory management of third-party supplier risk in digital service supply.
