What is SOC 2?

An American client asks for SOC 2 — here's what it means

SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls) is an audit standard from AICPA — the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. It checks that your systems meet five principles: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.

American Enterprise clients require a SOC 2 Type II Report — an audit report certifying that your controls operate over time, not just on paper.

CBE doesn't just prepare you for the audit — we build the control system, procedures and documentation, and guide you through the auditor (CPA firm).

Type I — a point in time. Type II — a period of 6-12 months.

CPA Firm
